Our Carbon Reduction Targets
By 2033, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint by 54.6% and by 90% by 2050. We are working closely with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to set our greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, which we have already begun implementing throughout East Riding Sacks.

Our 2023 Carbon Baseline Emissions
· Scope 1 emissions: 559 tonnes of CO₂e

Our Quarter 1 Solar Panel Stats
· Reduced our purchased energy by 15.4%
· 82.4 MWh production in Q1
· 15.9 tonne of CO2 saved
Our Achievements to Date
· Using sustainably sourced raw materials.
· Switching to LED lighting throughout East Riding Sacks.
· Installing 1,300 solar panels, projected to reduce electricity usage by 20% per annum.
· All East Riding freight vehicles are equipped with Euro 6 engines.
· Installing electric vehicle charging points for both company vehicles and visitors.
· Recycling of all paper waste and wastewater from our production areas.
Our Next Steps
· Publish science-based targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
· Publish a annual sustainability report to outline the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and progress.
· Engage suppliers to reduce emissions across the supply chain.
· Improve energy efficiency in production, transport, and buildings.
· Increase recycled and low-carbon materials in products and packaging (Non-Food Contact).
· Promote employee awareness and involvement in carbon reduction initiatives.
